day six

Ethan is still sick with this virus and we're now going on day six :( The doctor says there's not much we can do except to make sure he's staying semi-hydrated and let it run its course. He's been showing signs of dehydration and we've been watching out for that. As many of you remember, Ethan was admitted to the hospital for 3 days last May/June for dehydration and we are trying EVERYTHING we can to keep him from being in that same situation again. Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. We truly appreciate it!!

one nasty bug!

Ethan is under the weather...poor guy! He woke up Sunday night vomitting for 2 hours straight. Monday he couldn't keep anything down and slept all day. Yesterday he didn't get sick, but he refused to take any liquids at all. Josh and I started giving him syringes full of Pedialyte (which he hated I may add) so he won't get dehydrated. Then this morning I felt like his fever had broke and he wanted to eat and drink again. Needless to say nothing stayed down. I thought we were on the mend! Thanks for your prayers. I have to tell you though, I am loving just holding my little boy. He's so cuddly when he's sick :)

night in chicago!

Josh and I stayed with Josh's Aunt Fran in Chicago over the weekend, and after the wedding we headed downtown for a night on the town! We had intentions of going ice skating in Millennium Park since it was the last night of the season, but when we got there after dinner they were closing. We ate dinner at Tavern at the Park, and then headed over to the park.

In the car :)

Part of the Skyline...wow!

This is an amazing sculpture called "The Bean". It's black glass that reflects images of the city....we had so much fun with this!

I love this pic...what an amazing piece of art!

Josh liked "The Bean" :)

Group picture!!

Fran and I in front of "The Bean"...you can see the flash from the camera in the reflection.

Here we're looking down over the ice skating rink.

This is the Shell, the ampitheater in the Park. It looked so neat at night!

We then moved to the glass cube sculptures that changed from actual faces to a variety of colors. Here Josh is jumping in front of the "face" one.

Aunt Fran said that in the summer months, water actually sprays out of the sculpture's mouth!

Being goofy!
(What can you expect? We're childless for the weekend!)

A smooch from my man :)
We had a wonderful night on the town...thanks for showing us around Aunt Fran!!

wedding in chicago!

This weekend, Josh and I drove to Chicago (1000 miles round trip!) for our friends' Wesley and Catherine's wedding.

Josh and I before the wedding began.

This is a picture of Alex and I. Alex is Catherine's cousin. (Not sure why the pic turned out so fuzzy) It was such an honor to meet her. She is such a sweet young lady!

What a beautiful picture of Catherine before the wedding! She bought her dress in the Philippines...it was gorgeous!

I love this pic of Alex!

This is Mario and Leonida, Catherine's parents. This was their first trip to the United States. (Her family is from the Philippines.)

Cameron and Erin Easley were at the wedding, friends of ours from college. Erin was so sweet to take pictures for us during the wedding. This pic is of Josh and Alex leaving the santuary after the wedding. (I think I got a few of these pics out of order...sorry!)

Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hobbie!!

"The Kiss" :)

This is a picture of Wes's brother (Roland) and I at the reception.

Isn't this such a beautiful cake?!

trip to zanesville

Yesterday afternoon we went to Zanesville to visit our friends Daniel and Jennifer who had their little boy, Brayden Brodrick, on Friday morning. Jen wasn't due for another 4 weeks, but after having a check-up with her doctor, sent her straight to the hospital to be induced since her blood pressure was extremely high. They were afraid of her having seizures and other complications if they waited. So Brayden was born weighing a little over 5 lbs, and has lost some weight since then. His lungs are not fully developed, and he's being fed through an IV at this time. Both Jen and Brayden could use your prayers since they will both be at the hospital for awhile yet, but I can tell you that he is one beautiful little miracle! Here are a few pics I took from the neo-natal ICU.

What a precious little boy!

Since Ethan had been in the car for awhile and had been so patient while we ran some errands, we took him to the mall to run around for awhile before we headed back home. He loves going down the slide and playing with the other kids that he meets.

Hiding in the teepee!

And again!
